Making the most of a $15,000 budget
- Think about running costs, not just the price: an older luxury brand can need more expensive parts.
- If the vehicle has no winter tires, add their cost to your budget: the law requires them from December 1 to March 15.
- Ask for the available service history and the number of previous owners.
- Test-drive in the city and on Highway 15 or 440 to listen for noises and feel the steering.
- Keep some room for taxes, registration and insurance.
